cambodia... memories from (slightly more than) a year ago..

looking at photos from friends who were involved in overseas community involvement projects reminds me of the time i had in cambodia in Dec '06. memories flood my mind at this point of time.

the smiles on the children's faces when you played with them,
their laughter,
the (hum sap) monk with the "i love you" tatoo whom we taught was cute at first sight,
the classes where children ran to on sunday morning,
the talks in the nights under the uncountable stars,
the discussions held in the balcony of Mom's place,
the cold water baths in the dark with just gas lamps and torches,
the sarongs,
the beautiful sunset at Tonle Sap lake,
the Life Journeys where at the end always comes the most interesting questions that only people of PA8 will know,
the candles that lit up our little circle when we discussed stuff,
the uncountable number of mahjong paper we drew on,
the simple and cheap yet yummilicious food we had on the streets,
the lao sais and constipation cycles of each and every group member,
the cries of the pigs when they knew they were going to be slaughtered the very next minute,
the exit from the bus windows we made because the door was congested with our barang barang,
the mural paintings,
the morning exercises,
the counting of mosquito bites i had on my legs with the kids,
the walks to the market,
the stay with host families,
the naughty little flasher whom we all loved,
the attempts to communicate in the Khmer language with our little red/yellow book,
...
..
.

the list goes on and on, and the photos as well. Credits to Peihao for the wonderful capture of memories. Cambodia will always remind me of how fortunate i am and for that, i will always cherish what i have. I am glad that i am part of PA8. PA10 is coming. no chance for me to take part. maybe PA11? or some other project by other clubs.
