we decided to have japanese food last saturday at solene and joey's place. solene's from france and her boyfriend, joey, is german. they stay together and their apartment is big. so, we have meals at their place once a week or once every two weeks, with different kinds of food each time. we had german and french on our first time, and this time round, JAPANESE FOOD!!!!we went to the new asian shop near their house cos there was 5% sale for opening week. managed to get most of the necessary ingredients and stuff there...
we were so hungry. but so happy with all the stuff we bought. couldn't wait to start cooking...
preparation. we made a mess in the kitchen.. see joey cutting crab meat?? i haven't had it for 1.5 months. was stealing slices of it while he was cutting.
solene took alo of pics so there too many pics to put up. i didn't put those of us making the sushi. cos they are boring. maybe i will when i figure picassa out.. but anyway, the end products!!! we had miso soup. it was fantastic! and we bought teriyaki sauce, so we chopped carrot and cucumber sticks to dip it in, and champignons as well. shiiioook.
and wonderful asami made these cute little things. look so real right??? but it's smoked salmon cos we didn't find raw salmon. and even if we did, we didn't know if it will be fresh enough. yum yum!!!!
joey made a 'german' sushi. why german? u'lll only know when u are in germany. hint: the sushi has too much stuff it can't close.

it was a really nice dinner. next time round is chinese food! i hope i don't disappoint them. kinda difficult also cos max is vegetarian. i shall look up the recipes online... and till the next post, which should be soon, take care!
