It's a long overdue post... this was supposed to come last week but i've been lazy. what's new?? anyway, i was in schwarzwald two sundays ago. Schwarz means black, and wald means forest in english. u put it together, and yes. i was at the black forest. not the freiburg part, but at triburg area. The forests are really very nice. too bad i didn't get any photos of the pretty forest. shall grab them from a friend and then put it up next time.
Anyway, Schwarzwald is famous for two things. the Cuckoo Clock and the Blackforest Cake. We visited the World's biggest Cuckoo clock and listened to a robot man talk. Below, u can see the mechanism of the whole clock.

The clock from outside. didn't manage to catch the cuckoo coming out tho. missed by a few minutes. it only comes out at every half hour.

yeah. and this was the reason why i missed the cuckoo. cos there were so many cute little clocks in the souvenir shop!!!

After the cuckoo clock museum, we went to an open air museum and took a tour around some farm houses which were 400+ years old. It's amazing how smart pple that time can be.

This is the house of one of the richest person in the area. pple work for this person. can tell by the amount of glass they have. in the past, glass was very ex. so, if u got money, u show off by having alot of glass in ur house.

after the museum tour, we had time for lunch. and yes. germany is famous for its bread. and look at this bread. it's bigger than my face!

and then, the blackforest cake is also ginormous. it's about 20cm tall i think...

and this is the largest blackforest cherry cake in the world. It weighs 2 tonnes with a diameter of 5 metres. i think u can swim in this cake... hahaha. it's like up to the waist lah! eat until u scared.

yeah. and of course, i had my own cake as well!!!! it's been years since i last had blackforest cake. chocolate cakes were always first on the list. but then again, nothing beats eating blackforest cake in the Black Forest. it is a must-try food...

of course... satisfied! shall update regarding my oktoberfest trip soon!!!!
